I often need to use the Help facility in Microsoft Word, as
the menus are so complex and poorly laid out (do you
know how to create an automatic table of contents, or set up
the page for 3 columns of text?).
Every time I use Help, it goes to the Internet, which takes
a few seconds. This annoys me greatly. Here's how to turn it
off.
On the Word main menu, click Help, then click on Microsoft
Office Word Help as circled in this image:
This will cause the Help window to open. At the bottom of
this window, you will find Online content Settings. Click
that one time.
By default, the option Show content and links from Microsoft
Office Online is checked.
Uncheck that option. You then need to restart Microsoft Word
for the new setting to take effect.
